I'm a writer. I've written many short stories in the last few years and I have a novel in progress. Most of my material is genre and the majority is horror.

Almost all of my energy is focused on the craft of writing. Once, I spent a few hours dwelling on verb tense and its impact on character evocation -- to include an hour spent dissecting the spoken dialogue of the random people nearby for how they used verb tenses to reveal their outlook. Months ago, I upset someone by saying "character" rather than "person" during an extended discussion about social interactions -- revealing to her that this was one more writing conversation after all. My response: "There's no such thing as a non-writing conversation."

Oh, and I drink coffee. Four to six shots of espresso per cup, one to three cups per day. For all that, I'm the most relaxed person you're likely to meet.
